Eric Staal has become a special advisor to Buffalo`s general manager. The former Canadian striker is 40 years old.
He retired from his professional career in August 2024 after 18 seasons in the NHL.
Eric Staal will work alongside General Manager Kevin Adams and assist in all aspects of the Sabers hockey operations department.
As a hockey player, Staal played 32 games for Buffalo in the 2020-21 season. Adams and Staal played together in Carolina from 2003 to 2007 and won the Stanley Cup in 2006.
Staal played 1, 365 regular NHL games and scored 1, 063 points (455+608).
