Nielsen has revised its audience totals for Super Bowl LX between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. The total audience of broadcasts on NBC, Peacock, Telemundo, NBC Sports Digital and NFL+ increased from 124. 9 million to 125. 6 million people - by 700 thousand viewers.
The company said that the adjustment is due to the fact that one of the Big Data providers did not fully collect data from its devices on February 8, which affected the aggregate figures.
For comparison, the previous Super Bowl LIX averaged 127. 7 million viewers. However, that figure did not include Nielsen`s new out-of-home viewing metric.
Super Bowl LX is the second most-watched television show in US history. The top 12 spots are occupied by the Super Bowl, and the only non-college football show in the top 20 is the series finale of MAS*H.
