But now I am speaking from the position of a player, and we are very weakly protected. You can even stipulate $14 trillion in a contract; it will be of little use if the basic issues are not resolved.
And there are a lot of them, and they are critically important: the lineup of the application for the season, the movements of players. Or, for example, the rule of three transitions. Why can`t a free agent change clubs? What difference does it make whether he is 26 or 28? These are the things that should be discussed.
– But who should initiate this?
– Exactly. Now players and agents have one tool: interviews. Our voice is not heard. In essence, everything is simple. Assemble a working group, let it include five agents, twenty team captains, five general managers, representatives of journalists, and club presidents. Each group has its own view. In any case, there will be common ground.
