A plate of nachos on the ice distracted Logan Thompson before Edmonton`s goal. The Oilers lost to the Capitals (2:3) in a home game of the NHL regular season.
During a successful attack by the Canadian club, a plate of nachos (a snack from Mexican cuisine in the form of corn tortilla chips with various additives - Sports) was thrown onto the ice - it fell in the capital area.
Washington goalkeeper Logan Thompson pointed this out to the referees, but the goal was counted.
I`ve never seen nacho cheese on ice. I just stopped playing, got distracted. I`ve never seen anything like this, but the goal was still counted.
I swore and said something like: There is cheese on the ice. [The judges] didn`t notice it, so it`s not really their fault. But I have to play until the whistle, it’s my mistake, ” Thompson said.
