Wolff is convinced that Verstappen did not support Red Bull`s pathetic protest. Mercedes chief executive Toto Wolff said Red Bull tried to ensure Max Verstappen`s victory at the Canadian Grand Prix after the finish by filing a protest.
The stewards did not agree that Mercedes driver George Russell drove erratically behind the safety car and acted in an unsportsmanlike manner; the Briton retained first place.
Firstly, it took Red Bull two hours before the team lodged a protest, so it`s on them. You know, honestly, this is so pathetic and petty.
[Red Bull] did this in Miami. Now two protests have been filed. They withdrew one because it was ridiculous. They came up with some strange points - what they call points. I think the FIA needs to pay attention to this - the protest was so strained that it was rejected.
